Guitar imgRight example I was not borne with a guitar in my hand, instead I started to play guitar when I was at the age of 16 years old. My nephew Maurice van der Lans was playing guitar way before that and at a certain time he played some songs of Metallica and at that stage, my interests for this remarkable instrument was born.

I bought my first electric guitar and amplifier at a local music store. At that time I couldn’t play any songs, but good material makes the musician I always said. After I hand bought my first guitar I started to practice songs of Metallica. These songs are mostly based on power cords so they were easy to play. The first song I could play was “Seek and Destroy” from Metallica. After that more and more songs were added to my guitar vocabularies.

At a certain stage I got interested in the acoustic guitar two. First I bought a 12-string Vantage and learned some songs of the Rolling Stones and Creadence Clearwater Revival. This guitar played very tough and after a while my fingers were like hell. I decided to buy a semi acoustic guitar, my Ovation at a music store in Amsterdam. This was my first professional guitar and is was quite a expensive one. I even got off something off the price, but still it was quite expensive. The Ovation plays very well, has a beautiful warm sound and looks really beautiful. It’s not just an instrument but also a peace of art.
